I read with interest the manuscript; the long-term efficacy of pedicular screw fixation in patients suffering from thoracolumbar burst fractures without neurological deficit. Regarding the prospective nature of the study and well-chosen inclusion criteria and good definition of the outcome measure, whole the study is appropriate for publication in Asian J Neurosurg. The points of value to be reminded in designing further researchers in this field are; (a) the number of cases included is small, (b) the variables mentioned only in the conclusion "…….body mass index, occupation, education and treatment approach" should be assessed as well in the list of variables in a prospective manner, (c) If these variables had been a kind of bias for selecting the cases for surgery, another logistic regression should have been done.

As the kind researchers have highlighted, this pilot can be a trigger for other prospective and case-control studies that would be more elucidative.
